Brief: ORCC (Oxfordshire Rural Community Council) is a charity that encourages people to plan for their village. I was commissioned by West Hendred to create a pop-up stand for a Village Plan launch event. My brief was to remind villagers why they chose to live there, to make them proud of their village and to engage and excite them.
Solution: There was no budget to buy images and it was a large area to fill! I approached the local artist Paul Kessling who allowed me to enlarge one of his watercolours of the area which became an interesting textural background. I photographed local views, introduced a hint of a map and created the strapline: to live to love to work to enjoy to celebrate to develop to protect. The stand is 4 metres long by 2.2 metres high.
